What is the Mustaqbal Prize?
The Mustaqbal Prize is an annual competition aimed at promoting young contemporary creation. It is a competition exclusively for Moroccan artists or foreign artists residing in Morocco, whether formally trained or self-taught.
Since 2021, an expert jury carefully selects around ten talented artists, who are given the opportunity to exhibit their works at Artorium, the art space of the TGCC Foundation.
Registration open for the 2025 edition
Word from the chairwoman
For its fifth edition, the Prix Mustaqbal initiated in 2021 by the Fondation TGCC opens its call for applications for emerging contemporary art. En.core, a term with multiple meanings, where essence, core, and renewal, encore, come together to offer emerging artists an opportunity for self-expression and personal creation. It’s a call to reflect on an artistic proposal that is free of all constraints, an opportunity to explore new territories.
After the “Sans titre” edition, the Prix Mustaqbal continues its quest for a plural generation where each medium contributes to enriching the Moroccan art scene. Whether you’re a painter, photographer, installation artist or multidisciplinary artist, we encourage you to submit your projects, whether they’re in development or already underway. This renewed freedom for applicants is an opportunity to reinvent an artistic language and question the major issues facing the world today.
Beyond the financial reward, this prize represents a real springboard for each winner. Above all, it is about supporting artists in their professional careers by offering them resources and institutional support. The first prize includes an artistic residency and the opportunity to develop a project during a solo exhibition in 2026.
This experience, combined with immersion in Montresso* Art Foundation at Jardin Rouge, will enable the winner to strengthen his or her practice and meet new audiences, while benefiting from a stimulating environment conducive to personal development.
Faithful to its mission as a revealer, the Prix Mustaqbal is thus positioned as a real platform for a generation of committed artists. With this new edition, entitled En.core, the competition reiterates its annual character and its constant ambition, contributing to a dynamic of ongoing support for the new contemporary creative scene in Morocco and beyond.

About the prize
Fondation TGCC pour l’Art et la Culture launches the call for applications for the fifth edition of the Prix Mustaqbal. Aimed at emerging Moroccan and foreign artists living in Morocco, this annual competition is designed to support the new contemporary art scene.
Since its creation in 2021, a jury of artists, professionals and art critics has selected between ten and fifteen candidates to exhibit their works at Artorium, the foundation’s art space. Among them, three prizes are awarded: first prize (winner), second prize and third prize. Fondation TGCC offers all of them a financial award, and the first prize wins an artistic residency at Jardin Rouge, thanks to the support of Montresso* Art Foundation, and the complete production of a solo exhibition in 2026.
In previous editions, Prix Mustaqbal has rewarded the following artists :
- 2021 : Khadija El Abyad, Khadija Jayi, Amina Azreg
- 2022 : Mohamed Al Mahdi Ali Bouha, Mouad El Bissaoui, Malek Sordo
- 2023 : Rida Tabit, Mehdi Ait El Mallali, Yassine Sellame
- 2024 : Kamil Bouzoubaa Grivel, Yasmine Hadni, Kamil Tahiri.
Now in its fifth edition, the competition is open to amateur and professional artists between the ages of 18 and 35, working in the mediums of drawing, painting, photography and installation. Following on from the previous edition, the competition does not impose any theme, giving candidates the freedom to submit an existing or ongoing project. With the prize, the winning artist will be able to fully develop his or her project at a solo exhibition in November 2026.
In the second phase, artists will defend their projects in the presence of the jury, and the finalists will be selected to exhibit their work at Artorium in September 2025, with the winners chosen at the same time.
